Poker Winning Card Combinations
Poker is strategy, bluffing, and luck. But how does a player actually win. Winning at poker takes the right cards that make up the right winning poker combinations. Here's what we're talking about:
Poker winning combinations are 5 cards that follow winning patterns in poker. The most popular winning pattern is the straight flush. A poker straight flush are 5 cards of one suit, sequenced with an ace and high or low cards. An example is a sequence of high heart cards: ace heart, king heart, queen heart, jack heart, and a 10 heart.
Four of a kind is the next popular poker win. It's 5 cards with four of a kind plus an idler. An example is a king of heart, king of spade, king of diamond, king of clover, and an 8 spade. Notice that all four are kings and the last one is an 8. The same can be true of 4-pieces of 10s or 7s or jacks, plus one that is of any kind and suit.
A poker full-house are 5 cards, three of which are of the same kind or rank, and the other two of another kind. So a full-house can be 3 pieces of kings and two pieces of 2s. Or three pieces of 7s and two pieces of 10s. And so on. A simple poker flush is 5 cards in sequence but may be of different kinds or ranks. An example is a queen of heart, a jack of spade, a 10 of clover, a 9 of diamond, and an 8 of clover again. Note that the 5 cards are in sequence of 8,9,10, jack, and queen, but have different suits.
Three of a kind in poker is also called threes, a triplet, or trips. They are 5 cards with 3 of the same kind (example, queen heart, queen spade, and queen diamond), plus two of different ranks or kinds (example, 2 of heart and 5 of spade). If the last two are of the same kind, then what we will have is a poker full-house.
A two-pair poker has two pairs (example, king of heart and king of diamond, plus 7 of spade and 7 of heart) plus one idler. Then there's also the one-pair poker (one pair and three idlers). Finally, a high card follows no combination. When no other winning combination is possible, then we opt for a high card. The highest card wins.
Poker winning combinations are simple. Get 5 cards with a winning pattern, and that's it.
